The design of this loft in Tribeca is based on a few key elements: the preservation of its original identity - it was an old buttons' factory -, the arrangement of the functions according to the natural light, the densification of all the services in order to leave maximum space to the main activities. For this reason the core-volume was placed in the shady side of the house, working as a macro furniture, which contains two bathrooms, a laundry, a closet and all the technical facilities. The volume becomes a natural filter between the living and sleeping areas. Its perimeter is treated in order to have a deep connection with the surrounding, hosting functions that strategically interact with the side-activities: a library, the kitchen modules, private bathroom and closet's entrances.
