The renovation of the former convent of San Nicola has to be inserted into a geographical framework (the Regional Natural Park of Monti Lucretili), where the building becomes an access to the park, a visitor center, a point of reference for anyone interested in environmental education. The new facility will be designed as a flexible system, able to accommodate the needs of different types of users. It will be a landmark for tourists of the third generation, of those who do not seek comfort, but the local spirit and the peculiarity given by the history of a place. The project identifies three areas corresponding to the three degrees of conservation (good, intermediate and poor). The three parts are home to specific functions: promotion, hospitality and administration.
