Stack of Rituals seeks to distill the daily rhythms of the host farming company into a single installation. Its raw building material is the plastic crate used during harvest. These crates are the first objects awaiting the workers each morning and, by day’s end, the tools that carry the crops to the main building, ready to be shipped across Europe. A hyper-functional object, the crate becomes the central actor in a ritual renewed every day. Stack of Rituals gives form to these dynamics, creating a dialogue with a context where human activity and the agricultural landscape are constantly regenerated in a circular pattern.
The entire installation cost less than 20 euros—the price of the plastic ties used to fasten the crates.
