“Four Seasons” is a distilled and updated version of part of the content originally presented in the Italian Pavilion, curated by Luca Zevi for the 13th Venice Architecture Biennale. This new layout unfolds as a journey through multiple themes and spatial experiences, offering a narrative that interweaves architecture, environment, industry, and economy.
A single raised platform—part walkway, part exhibition surface—leads visitors through the installation. Constructed from humble materials such as untreated MDF and raw wood, the design embraces simplicity while elevating these “poor” materials through refined assembly techniques and graphic interventions. This approach brings out the inherent warmth and tactile qualities of the materials, allowing them to take center stage.
In Four Seasons, the contrast between the natural texture of untreated wood and the technological sophistication of the content creates a balanced dialogue—one that highlights both the organic and the engineered aspects of the exhibition’s message.
