Client: THALES / Alenia Space

The new entrance and atrium for the Tales agency were conceived as a welcoming threshold—a space designed to guide visitors intuitively through the building while simultaneously showcasing the agency’s research, projects, and achievements. The design seeks to combine clarity of circulation with an experiential quality, transforming the entrance into more than just a point of access: it becomes a spatial narrative that introduces the agency’s identity from the very first steps inside.
The atrium has been envisioned to include intimate private gardens, serving both aesthetic and environmental purposes. These gardens are irrigated with rainwater collected from the new roof, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and reinforcing the connection between architecture and natural processes. Within this green environment, informal lounges offer flexible spaces for reception, casual meetings, or lunch breaks, creating moments of pause and interaction for employees and visitors alike.
Through this integration of greenery, water management, and adaptable social spaces, the atrium functions as both a physical and symbolic entry point. It reflects Tales’ ethos of research and innovation while providing a welcoming, legible, and inspiring environment. The path through the atrium becomes a carefully choreographed experience, where visitors can both orient themselves and engage with the agency’s work, all within a setting that emphasizes transparency, accessibility, and the thoughtful blending of indoor and outdoor spaces.
