The permanent museum of the Casa dei Cantautori will be housed inside the former Abbey of S. Giuliano, in Genoa.
The new museum adapts the original spaces in order to host a selection of the most important Italian songwriters (among others, Fabrizio De Andrè, Luigi Tenco, Lucio Dalla, Paolo Conte, Franco Battiato, Ivano Fossati).
The project seeks a coexistence between interactive media and more traditional objects (manuscripts, memorabilia, etc.), through an installation that integrates the various heterogeneous contents selected by the curators.
The specificity of the place has influenced the design choices, both in aesthetic and material terms, favoring sober, almost “monastic” furnishings, easily removable, made with natural and recyclable materials, chosen, also and above all, for their acoustic characteristics.
